I fell in love with Marathon. I do not usually watch 24 Hour specials - only when people I like are there but it was in my hard drive and since I was sick and had nothing to do, I had turned it on and it was such a great thing that I did. Now, I am kicking myself for not having watched it for such a long time.

First of all, props to Ninomiya Kazunari for such an awe inspiring acting job. It was NOT easy, what he did. To act like an autistic child (or in Nino's case, it might be actually normal) *gets kicked* But it was what he did, he acted so convincingly that I forgot that he was in fact one of Japan's most loved Idols from ARASHI. He deserves an award for that. :) Not that i doubted his acting skills, I have loved watching him in Yamada Taro (one of my all time favorite dramas) and Ryusei no Kizuna( though I admit i watched that one coz Ryo-chan was adorable in it). He has such skill in internalizing and making the character real. Admirable.

Second, the story just made me smile. It was amazing that a 9 year old AUTISTIC child could do that. I mean, seriously, I couldn't even run the 800 meter:) at least without cheating. (( yeah, yeah, I cheated my way out of it in High school)) It was a story about achieving what people say is the impossible and focusing on your dream, even if people say you can't do it.

I want to be shoutaro. I want to be running towards my dreams. Following my own rainbow, going through them and catching my own luck. I think tht would be just awesome.

[PV] KAT-TUN: Don't You Ever Stop

Looks like Jin did it again. After a much publicized return from his Hiatus from Johnny's Entertainment,a successful drama, Keep the Faith, Akanishi Jin and the rest of KAT-TUN glows in the release of their latest single, Don't you ever stop. The song is a catchy, KAT-TUN friendly song. Pop-Rock with a twist of Grunge Rapping on the side- all melted beautifully in a 4:24 song that keeps your head bobbing and not grow old too fast. It's a good certified platinum hit. ( what? with the number of Akame fans out there, it's certain!)

The video is the same. Its a new twist to JE PV's, fresh and really leaning more to gothic and dark(which is pretty new to JE, i think). i think it is well done. Of course, it would be since KAT-TUN has the highest budget among all JE groups because they are Mary's Pets. (*bitch*) But the money has gone to good use in this case, except for some details, you will read about later.

At least the setting isn't in some random trashy hangar/Warehouse/similar place. It's a bar, a dark gothic, well designed club with orb-mesmerized inhabitants that seem that they will disappear if the channel changes. The efffect is amazing. It must have taken many an effect artists hours and the team should b very proud of their product. It is eye candy for us effect and graphic conscious and it still it is subtle enough to not overpower KAT-TUN. And my GOD the lighting effects are PRETTY.

That orb in the beginning, the orbs the people are holding, the people effects, all the little details took me by surprise and blew me over. WOW! I am a big fan of Gothic Urban Fantasy and this is straight out of one of my dreams. *applauds*

I am not a big KAT-TUN fan, but I admit that this video tops NEWS Summertime PV by a mile. First of all, the video effects are amazing, the cinematography and cuts are flawless and I believe that this is the best video that KAT-TUN has ever produced. They created a hype and lived up to it. kudos to them. It was not disappointing.

I honestly put off watching this video because, first, I wasn't too drawn in by the fact that it is KAT-TUN and second, I didn't want to watch some grungy flashy warehouse video. But I was pleasantly surprised by this. There is a storyboard, they followed it, it was smooth and it was done well. The team that did this should get something for it. an award? not really. A pat on the back, yes.

Ok. As for the artists themselves... (I know you have been waiting for this) I have nothing much to bitch about because they all look if not wonderful (as in Junno's case) or cool- EXCEPT- (here it comes!) WHAT IN JOHNNY KITAGAWA'S NAME IS ON JIN'S HEAD?! Really! Either Jin was late to the shoot and they did not have time to finish his braids (because he looked half-done) OR that his stylist was drunk or indecisive enough to not know what the hell to do with his hair and put a little bit of everything on it. (a little braid here, some ribbon there, oh! lets do jamaican with smooth idol hair twist! ) Luckily, Jin was HOT enough in himself to pull it off or semi-pull it off..

Poor Jin, it must be total punishment for him because he hasnt been in a video for so long. the rest of his members looked steamy and he looks like a reggae band reject. I mean, seriously, look at maru, koki, junno and I admit ... Kame looks pretty damn hot in this one. Ok, so its not that bad and thats probably one of the biggest things i have against this. But, thats NOT bad at all right?

So I would probably give this a grade of... hmmmm 4/5 because Jin's hair is THAT important.

[PV] Ai Ai Kasa

Overall, The PV was really disappointing. Though it was cute, the story was sweet and the song was... romantic. I think. The only thing I think is that is too reminiscent of Kiss no Kaerimich love song with their angelic presence over the real beings. I do love how they made it new with the real cute kids and REAL footage. But the heavenly background, the glitter, the cloth... all remade from kiss no kaerimichi love song. I guess, I am a bit disappointed because I want something new or inventive.

If Tegomass continues on this route, I would look at a timeline of their PVs and look for a story progression. >.> I mean if it had one that would be awesome, like lee jun ki's grace series. NOW THAT, was cool...

I guess I was expecting something more from TegoMass. Something inventive or creative and not a bad remake of their former glory. If I was flailing myself crazy over Kiss no Kaerimichi love song, this one pales in comparison.

First of all, the whole video feels so cold. The colors were too cool. I understand they were talking about rain here, but, geesh... its a love story too.. add a little color maybe. I appreciated the silver look, it looked like raindrops and was appropriate.However, the whole color palette sucked. >.> It made Tegomass look... PALE. Thank GOD for Massu's bright eyes. It helped made the experience better.

The playing with water scenes in black were awesome. I LOVED the effect. I just hate the fact that the idol shots were done OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER... How many cute faces could tego and massu do in 5 minutes? seriously, and was the director just lazy? Oh, it was also the same thing over and over. it was, kids walking in the rain, tegomass singing, kids walking in the rain, tego close up, massu close up, kids walking in the rain *insert random showerhead shot/black shot here*, rinse, repeat...

IMHO, they could have sang on the ladders, made use of the showers more and that would have made it better. Yes, I am disappointed. so much effort wasted, so much still to aspire for in this video.

Dont let me get started on BLONDE tegoshi. You know I hate it. So I will leave it at that.
Massu was adorable though, but what the HELL is he wearing around his neck? Ah well, the outfits were kind of normal, except for the ruffles and the weird thing..but.. it was bearable. Blonde tegoshi was... well... I DIDNT LIKE IT.

Massu was adorable. This was the shot that made it all worth it.

This is what I think they were thinking...

I love TEGOMASS but I was disappointed. I guess, I was really just expecting too much.

This new release from NEWS was hyped for so long because of their Russ-K commercials. Honestly, I didn't really think much about it. I thought that it was going to be one of those overproduced PVs like KAT-TUN's LIPS or something kind of eccentric like weeeek ( though I did love that PV) But I was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong.

[~~It kind of makes up for the fact that I waited til dawn for this PV's release in Break Point! but it didn't happen. WTF, Kitagawa! Whats with that faulty schedule?~~]

This PV wins by a mile and a half. Totally it has my heart. First, its of the BOYS looking very HEALTHY and GENKI. Ryo does not look like he needs to be fed. Massu isn't overweight. Even Koyama looks awesome. Pi looks well rested too and Tesshi, well he looks adorable. We all know that Shige's vanity lately has been making him look wonderful. Well, plus the fact that they are wearing decent clothing is the BEST. ( THANKS, RUSS-K!)

Hmmm... first of all, I flailed because it is MASSUCENTRIC. And Massu pouts are always made of win! <3 I love the Artistry, the flow and the happiness of the video. The video was set up with Massu reminiscing moments of summer as he opens the old photoalbum and out jumps the memories at him. Emo!Massu appears for a milisecond before real Massu grabs the attention back.

The set was cute. A nice summer house with BRILLIANT colors. ( I LOVE THAT TEAL PAINT!) and it has so many things for NEWS to play with. It's wonderful! It is very cheerful, fun and well, summer-like! There are odd things in there, like a camera without film, bongos, maraccas, food and well, things that NEWS could go crazy with during their summertime.

Lately, NEWS has this trend to keep their videos light, funny and very genki. From Hoshi wo Mezashite to Weeeek to Summertime the genki/sugarhigh levels seem to have risen and multiplied. Not that I am complaining, it's cute! It seems that their relationships really has taken a turn for the better.

Ryo starts out with hiding behind the tree and singing.He looks really good in this video. He looks healthy and he has awesome black hair. MY RYO ICHIBAN IS BACK !! *_________* *flailymadness* and he's drinking milk!! GOOD BOY!! But the skateboard is not a microphone. Thank you.

Pi looks well rested and really good with his hair in here.He also drinks milk. While a weird shot of Koyama goes by doing the peace sign. >.> Uh.

Massu looks awesome. Did he change his hair? He definitely lost weight but I lovehim this way. He's so genki and sweet looking I want to hug him!!

Tegoshi looks fed. His hair isnt a weird ass color and it is a cute cut. All in all, he wasnt a complete fashion disaster in this one ( perhaps we should thank Russ-K for that). He's just plain adorable and not so girly!!

Shige looks amazing. Though, he did gain a lot of confidence. His cockiness shows here. I guess it is just fitting for someone who is gaining a larger fanbase than before. He was a late bloomer anyway. And BRIGHT BLUE looks awesome on him.

Koyama looks not so thin and awkward.I think he looks better now than before. or maybe i just didnt pay that much attention to him before. ( or maybe kitagawa is feeding them now with more milk)?

The whole PV was just crack waiting to happen. With crazy random banana scenes, straw scenes, and that whole Shige and Pi camera scene. OMG, Shige's doggie looks weird. Massu seems happy with his jars of fishes. And it only proves that Ryo can't iron worth batshit and Massu flails over laundry. (maybe it was his shirt) He's like shocked to death over it and almost cried. Ryomassu is possible. I tell you.

There was something that caught most of our attention. THE KEII-JUICE. Actually it was strawberry milkshake with some mystery ingredients like that round thing that he dropped and the mystery liquid ( which I thought was lime juice) it came in a limejuice thingie. upon closer inspection I think it was some kind of nut, or small fruit or yam. coz it looks like it. AND WHAT AN EVIL LOOK DID KEII GIVE TOTHAT CONCOCTION!!

The fact that they showed interaction between members that are usually not working together (Ryo and Massu),(shige and Pi) etc,shows that they are growing from a stagnant pre-molded boyband to something more.They are not afraid to show a different side to themselves, and focused on bringing out new things. It was a pleasant surprise to see those scenes really. I believe it was something great

Koyama and Shige's rapping actually sounded kinda nice here. (/end random thought)

And what is with that idol!? wahahah! Oh wait its a bottle. heheeh. oh how random they are!

[j-drama] Romeo and Juliet- Jurie Chigai (NTV, 2007)

Romeo and Juliet" is about a female college student Juri Kihira and an injured young man (Hiromichi) she meets on the street. They fall in love, not knowing that the girl's police detective chief father is in the midst of a manhunt to find the young man's physician father, who is wanted for murder.

Its a human drama that stars Takizawa Hideaki from Tackey and Tsubasa. ( Of course, a senpai of Johnny's Entertainment) I watched this mainly because I saw that he acted in it. I justa wanted to see Mr. Takizawa's acting skills and angelic face. ^.~

Alright, so he wasnt that HOT as an actor. I prefer him belting out songs on stage and acting like the dork he is. It's more natural for him. His acting in Romeo and Juliet seems forced and unnatural, his face registers almost no emotion. needless to say, it was boring. The only thing that got me through it was the fact that I was bored and there was nothing else to do and taht there was Tackey on my screen.

The girl was a little better though, though amateur. I swear I have seen her in another film before.Thats right. She was in Proposal Daisakusen and Dragon Zakura. She was better in DZ. I dont know about Prodai. I havent finished it.

Anyway, I liked the ending set of Romeo and Juliet. The scene by the church with falling autumn leaves. It's so romantic. The story flowed slowly...and its good enough for a TV special. Its a good watch for when you have nothing much to do and want a little romance and human drama in your life.

I give it 3 stars, because Tackey was cute.

[j-drama] Stand Up (TBS, 2003)

This is a story about four friends find themselves the last virgins left at school. During the summer holidays, a girl they knew as children 11 years ago, moves back to the neighborhood. Despite their childhood attraction to her, they realize she is a mere shadow of the "princess" they all thought they knew. This story of summer - love, friendship, school, family, the hypocrisy of adults, complications of life, experience and failure is set in an everyday shopping district and shows the clumsiness of children who have developed a little later than their peers. It's a bright romantic comedy that both young and old can appreciate.

I thought I should watch it just because some of my favorite actors and actresses are there in the drama. It was Oguri Shun, Narimiya Hiroki, Arashi's Ninomiya Kazunari and NEWS' Yamashita Tomohisa. The plot didn't interest me, but I watched anyway because I wanted to see how these 4 unlikely actors would have chemistry on screen. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a fun drama to watch, especially when you are sick and there is nothing to do.

Ninomiya's innocent face was convincing. Yamashita was a little bland, as he acts the same way he does in all his dramas. Oguri Shun was funny and Hiroki was... well Hiroki. I think they played each role pretty well.

Suzuki Anne ( I watched her in Ganbatte Ikkimasshoi!) was pretty good too. She wasnt as pretty, but she had quite a charm to her. Overall, its a good enough summer drama to fill up time, but its not anything mind blowing.

Though, fans of Yamashita Tomohisa may like this drama. Also, I bet Ninomiya's fans too. I never really liked him until now. ^_^ Well, I'll check him out in Yamada Taro Monogatari and see if I was right about him!

Yamada Taro, a freshman on a scholarship at Ichinomiya Private Senior High School, is high-achieving, strikingly handsome, and truly athletic and seems perfect. But he is actually extremely poor. The story humorously portrays Taro, who tackles problems that occur because of his poverty, and his six younger brothers and sisters.

This story is one that I really enjoyed. In fact, I marathoned it for 2 days and decided that this is a keeper. I love the flow of the story. The drama and the comedy were very tastefully and creatively done. Plus, the kids were adorable.

The main stars were from ARASHI. Sakurai Sho ( Mimura) and Ninomiya Kazunari ( Yamada Tarou) they were adorable. I really was never interested in ARASHI except for Jun but lately watching Nino, I fell in love with his acting ability and sweet face. Sho was sophisticated and cool,and he was just right for the role. I think the girl they had this time was adorable and did so well.

What surprised me about the series was the father, Kazuo who was played by Matsuoka Mitsuru who was also a singer. He looks too young to be a father of a college age kid. ( and he's hot) hehe. ^_^

I liked the series. That's about what I can say about it. Its a great feel good series. If you like ARASHI and this kind of drama. Watch it

[movie] Shissou; Dead Run (2005)

Based on the novel by Kiyoshi Shigematsu. - it is th of Shuuji, a boy who lives in a reclaimed land. He is a gentle boy. His parents are openly more proud of Shuuichi, Shuuji's elder and musch clever brother. But Shuuji loves him too. Many things occur around him. Whe a yakuza guy called Oniken moves in the land, Shuuji befriends with him. BUt he suddenly dies. Oniken's mistress Akane makes him realize his sexual desire for the first time. A little romance with a lonely girl named Eri, who doesn't beleive anyone since her parents committed suicide. A new Father comes to the church. He believes his brother committed a murder because of his fault. And one day, Shuuichi experiences serious failure which leads him to set fire on their house. It's the beginning of the collapse of the family...

I had feared there was something fundamentally wrong with Sabu's work, because there still remains few example of his work available officially with English Subtitles for people to pick up and watch. Amazing though, that this film, if not in itself considered by fans to be as good as previous works, is something truly worthwhile - a tragic love story told with great skill. A real gem, and I hope people choose and manage to catch it.

It was first feared to be a religious statement as there was a Catholic Church in a generally Shinto or Buddhist region, then as the movie wove its way through the two-hours, I found myself admiring the subtle social commentary, the tragic love story, the thriller and even the artistic way that only Sabu can do.

THe film remains down-to-earth, soulful and incredibly insightful, original. Similar films of this ilk, the slice-of-life dramas that are relatively frequent, sometimes manage more focus or clarity, but they're rarely so obviously packed with ideas to be pealed away and revealed. Smartly constructed.

The love story of Eri and Shuuji was creatively packed into this small but powerful film that captures you and keeps you guessing until the very last moment. It is powerful and attention grabbing so that you will not dare multi-task in this film.

The main character of this movie wasTegoshi Yuya from NEWS, and he was the reason why I dared to watch this movie. Most fangirls tell me that that this encaptulates his emo character and the peak of his acting career. I could not agree more. He was really great in this movie. Albeit, he was very young. this was an awesome break for him and i was glad to see this movie.

Although, if you are weak with blood, gore, sex and the like... you may want to.. well... keep that in mind.

This was a fun translation to do. I saw this in the office and I can't believe no one has translated this. This is one of the most precious things. ~~Even though Moritaka was there~~ Gah. Anyway, I am now rereading it and I can't believe what they said. I thought it was kinda cute that Tegoshi and Yamapi were behind the curtain and I howled in laughter with Massu in the Locker. So, that's what their dressing rooms look like. I wonder whose locker was whose?!

Now, here come the Characters:

1. Settling Character- Koyama- This is a good character for him since he's the eldest and the most responsible. It is really his character to settle thigns with people.
2. Near the Toilet Character - Yamapi- Alright this had me headdesking. WTF is a Toilet Demon?! YAMAPI, please enlighten me!? Does this mean you're always in the loo during mid-summer? Why? .... MY GOD.
3. Watcher Character- Uchi- AWW! Uchi wants to look after the members. Uchi so Kawaii.. but the face he made there was so hilarous!!
4. Finely Dressed Egotistical Character - Ryo-chan- This one had me floored. The initial translation was Fragile Flower. >.> and I was like that doesn't sound right. And so I re-translated and came up with this and I practically balked in my seat. OMG. This fits. ANd he was so cute when he was saying it ,it was like he was confirming it with the cocky attitude he had. It was so funny!

OMG. I am flailing seriously. I have been watching SHOKURAS nonstop and dling them and translating them and I cant stop flailing. Here are some thoughts as I watch this.

2001.11.11 SHOUNEN CLUB Feat. Nishikido Ryo

Right now i am watching a 2001 Shokura where Ryo is the main guest! <3 omfg. He was so blonde, so cute and so... Ryo. I discovered that he skateboards. I also was flailing coz, I saw KAT-TUN, TOMA, HASEJUN, SHUUSUKE,YAMAPI, J-SUPPORT, and TOMA HAD A SOLO!! WOW. They finally released the PV! I was really looking foward to this PV eversince I heard the song. This song is made for the Lovely Complex Anime along with the other single Kimi + Boku = Love. This is an amazing video with a romantic tone.

It is set in a dreamy set. It was almost heavenly, the set was all lavander with a lot of fabric and fog. it was so full of fog that I am surprised that the boys are not coughing in it! But it was a simple set, and it seemed that they actually filmed it all in one day. It also looked like a low budget PV but it was executed beautifully. Besides, we really don't need much to make a TegoMass Video great!

The couple watching it is going through stages of their relationship, from childhood to teenagers, and being lovers to having a family and finally growing old together. It's so cute. And Massu and Tegoshi were serenading them like angels... The theme is pure unadulterated eternal love. Imagine falling in love like that couple that was watching them and it makes me go awww...

The boys look really good. And it seemed that though they did mature. The boys still look youthful like angels. Tegoshi looks very classic and Massu looked very good in his almost laid back - boy next door look. Tegoshi looks more refined now. I LOVE HIS HAIR. But WTF PAISLEY SHIRT!! anyway, the colors were not so bad.. but dude.. paisley....

Anyway, I can't take my eyes off Massu in this video. Not only because I was on a Massu Kick, but also that he is gorgeous. He looks like he lost a little bit of weight. And omg he looks good.

Their voices are amazing as usual. Tegomass never fails to satisfy when it comes to singing and their vocal training is showing.They sound so lovely its amazing!

Apparently, Shige cannot operate a camera. ―(T_T)→ He fails at it and half his shots are out of focus. He looked absolutely embarassed at this fact. And he laughed so nicely after it. The talk was fun and comfortable it was so cute, of course it was with Koyama!! that's why.

Oh, did I mention that I really really REALLY want his Jacket? Shige looks absolutely awesome in what he's wearing. It's so ★ROCKSTAR ★ He looks both polished, rugged and rebellious. I love his Jacket. I will steal it. It's mine. OH! He's wearing the silver pointy shoes of doom from Fashion Check. Shige is a real careful dresser. I think among the boys, Shige thinks about his image the most. This might because he's really not in anything but NEWS and he doesn't want to be forgotten. ( I can't forget him)

Anyway, the performance started with Kakao, Shige looks absolutely like a star ★ He's awesome. He commanded the stage with his presence. This boy's confidence is obviously raised up from before when he was regarded as the member with the least confidence and the least self-esteem. In his solo, it showed that he's really good playing with the camera right now and the camera LOVES the boy. The ending sequence of Kakao is love, he was so sexy in it. PURRRR!

Indeed, Shige is the smartest cookie in NEWS, but this reinvention of Shige, makes him not only the smartest, but also the ★ ROCKSTAR of NEWS. ★ He has more of an edge now and definitely has character. He's definitely making himself more noticable! He really should do this more often. This is a new Shige that I love. Please, Rockstar, ^_^ keep this attitude up because it's so sexy! This playful side is one of my favorites!! And I hope to see a more confident Shige. <3 Shige, you are awesome you do need more attention! <

Then it switches over to Chiarizumu Koyama runs over to his partner ~~lover.~~ It opened with a mirror scene where they played with each other as they performed. You could see the good combination of KoyaShige/ Koyato. They really have good rapport with each other. It seems that they know each other so well. They are best friends after all!

Their voices are a good compliment to each other. Shige has a good bass/baritone voice and Koyama has a good high baritone. It looks like they were having a lot of fun in the video it's amazing! <3 I love watching it because Shige was not being his usual shy self. He was more outgoing than usual and it felt like he had come out of his shell. He was flirting with the camera and it seemed that he was so free and having a blast. Usually, Shige was the member who would measure his steps, count and be overly critical about himself, but with this, he just let loose and this is a Shige that I have not seen before.

First of all, I LOVE the song and their outfits. The simple white outfits really bring out their natural good looks. Ummm... I only went GUH many times at Kame, Jinjin, Tat-chan and Maru. It is set in a subway and everything is white. Somehow I getthe feeling that they're supposed to be angels of some sort. Because the aliens are spying on them using the i-robot thing. It is kinda weird. However, it's a very cute video. I almost forgot that it's a Johnny's Entertainment Productionbecause it was very simple and non-flamboyant.

It was a well made video. HOwever, WTF is with the creepiness? That old man and little girl was creepy!! He reminds me of those old men in horror movies. Burrr....

It was really a cute video. But, there's one thing I have to giggle at. KAT-TUN are MAGICAL BOYS! They have magic powers to heal the blind and make flowers live again! (*^日^*) heehee! The other night, when my brain is most alive. (Like at 2:00 am or so) suboshiyuiand I decided that we should go ahead and PV Perv ( my term on obsessing over PVs). Anyway, we decided to watch all of NEWS PVs and all of Yamashita Tomohisa's PVs. (yeah, we are that obsessive). This is the list of PVs we watched for NEWS below in the cut, are our observations and notes we made on each one. I have researched each PV and put it up here. This PV was made as a promotion for the Asian Volleyball Tournament in 2003, which NEWS was supposedly a temporary group for. They first performed this song in The National Yoyogi Gym in November 2003. NEWS was debuted as a 9 Member group with this with members including Yamashita Tomohisa (Leader), Nishikido Ryo and Uchi Hiroki from Kanjani 8, Moriuchi Takahiro and Masuda Takahisa from PLAYZONE, Kato Shigeaki, Koyama Keiichiro and Kusano Hironori from KKK and Tegoshi Yuya.

This is the only PV with Moriuchi Takahiro (森内貴寛), or called Moritaka in it -the mysterious 9th member of NEWS. He left the group and Johnny's Entertainment right after NEWS Nippon was released in December 2003 leaving 8 members. Reasons were supposedly he wanted to concentrate on schoolwork. However, it has been said that there were other reasons. He is now with ONE OK ROCK under AMUSE and changed his name to Morita Takahiro after his parent's divorce.

He's the guy who sings the 2nd verse. Only views of him clearly is in his space suit and the pic on the left. ~~GOOD COZ I DONT LIKE HIM~~ He looks like a mouse. >.> wait no, RAT. or something uglier! w(￣_￣;w ￢o(￣-￣ﾒ)

Speaking of KKK, I LOVE the KKK parts in this video! They are too cute! KKK is Koyama, Kato, Kusano. Here's a brief history of the trio: Koyama and Kato were in the same band called BAD before joining J-support with Kusano and 3 other members, band created by Koichi Domoto. J-support became KKKity, but KKK were lead vocal. After this KKK, joined NEWS.

The trio is hilarious, talented and very smart! <3 I think they are made up of the smartest cookies in NEWS. I mean, at least, Shige and Koyama are I haven't heard about Notti since the incident though. They are very good friends and I think they really sing well together.

This is NEWS Debut single as a permanent unit. YAY! Genuius Mr. Johnny Kitagawa to put 8 hot boys together.~~It was really better without bratty moritaka.~~ It seems that Johnny had plans for the boys as soon as he saw how popular they had become. He had pulled the boys out from their respected groups and debuted them as a group.

Some of the members, Yamashita Tomohisa in particular was not happy with this because he had hoped to debut with his childhood friend in the group Four Tops that was made up of Ikuta Toma, Hasegawa Jun , and Shunsuke Kazama. Without Yamapi there, Four Tops was dissolved and the others were left in Juniors. Up to now, Ikuta Toma and the others has not been debuted.

Kibou Yell debuted #1 as soon as it came out. This the first time the NEWS logo first came out. It's a cool video! It's very fun to watch! I love this video. It showed a lot of their playful sides. And it really featured their personalities and talents.

Notti was really adorable rapping in the start! <3 It seems that he's the most inclined to rap/ hip-hop. When they lost him, it was Shige that was put in his place for rapping lines and other things. However, sorry Shige, you can't do it as well as Notti. Shige's more of a Rockstar, not a rapper.

I loved the initial costumes. White shirts with ribbons on a blue cloth background. ]However, There is PROOF that this is a Johnny's Entertainment video.

WHY IN GODS NAME ARE THEY WEARING CURTAINS?

Honestly, those things are horrid. suboshiyui thought they were pajamas or tablecloth. While I saw that it was totally random and I started cracking up. Oh, Johnny Kitagawa, you are precious! You love giving your boys something to look horrid in. Looks like the boys are used to it though.

But generally, this is a PV made of LOVE. I love the casual clothes look. (Even though Yamapi is in PINK) they all look good initially. Until you look closer and Keii-chan has mint green pants, and Notti. WTF!? Blue shirt and Pink Pants?! Ok ,stylists for NEWS should die! The clothes look ok but the color matches are RIDICULOUS. Honestly. What planet is this ok?!

My favorite scenes? Oh! When they are all sitting around! It was so fun looking and they looked like they really had fun together, horsing around and just being boys. I like seeing that in videos. It makes me think of how much fun they had making that video for us to see!

This is a video that showcased a lot of their dancing skills. They danced most in this video. I think this was made as a total dance track. It has trance undertones in it. And this is why I love the song. Their costumes aren't too bad either It's very 90s but its alright, I guess.

What I noticed though is that they did put their best dancers in front - like Notti, Massu, Yamapi and Keii-chan. They hid the sucky ones -cough tegoshi cough- ~~Hey he improved way later~~.

Oh, I also noticed a lot of KKK moments here as well. And a lot of Yamapi , TegoMassu moments,and of course RyoUchi. This video is made of pair love and a LOT of dancing.

This is one of my favorite PVs. Because they all look hot.<3 Especially Ryo-chan with his hot hair. They have darker hair. All of them. Cherish marks the end of Bleach blonde days for most of the members. Even Tomohisa has darker blonde/ highlights. I love Uchi's haircolor. I want it for myself. But yes. Ryo in this hair is love. I will say it over and over. Ryo's hair here is love. Keii-chan went from blonde to brown which seems to suit him. Notti got rid of the weird hair and went for a flattering cut. Even Tegoshi seems more grown up. (wait we ARE seeing the boy grow up aren't we?)

Speaking of growing up, suboshiyui mentioned something. She said that this video marks a change of image for NEWS. It's like their coming of age video. Where in they are changing from bubblegum pop boys into something more different and mature. Even their clothes and themes in their videos changed. The whole image is a little rougher and sexier even though still not as sexy and rugged as KAT-TUN.

For outfits, this PV wins! I love their outfits in here! It's simple, monochromatic and NOT CRAZY WEIRD! It's almost not even a Johnny's production! Wait, I spoke too soon. There is a proof of Johnny's love in this video.

suboshiyui and I were just discussing the video and found ourselves discusing the quality and budget of the PV. She says it's pretty low budget. But I think it's better than most of their other videos. The planning, the plotting is better even the pacing of the video is so much better. I love this video for the simple fact that they really had so much good graphic effects. LIke the posters and the buildings. LOVE The vectors and the lighting effects they did. The CGI people worked hard on this Kudos!

There is also so much MASSU LOVE in this video. <3 OMG. I am so happy about that. Because Massu is love. -hides from Shige muse- anyway, he really really looks good in this video. And omg, Uchi's VOICE. it's really one of a kind. The ballad singers came out!! Tegoshi, Massu, Uchi, Ryo and Tomo!! <3 this is just the song for thier voices. Lots and lots of Kusapi in this video.

TEPPEN TIME! This video is love because it is one of the most active videos I saw them do. For one thing, I think that they all look dangerously wonderful in this video. Maybe the fact that they're wet contributed to it. It's just thembeing boys playing in the water and being silly and being hot. It's a fun video to watch, because you see a lot of sides to it that you see. Again, it seems like a low budget video but NEWS doesn't need a lot to make a great video. They're good like that. ~~actually, just show us their sweet wet looks and we'll be happy.~~

Alright, a video that starts off with wet boys sitting around wins points from me anytime. Honestly, don't you see how that sells? Boys playing in water, is so cute. Trying to play basketball, pretending to be in a beach and just being boys. it's just a very sweet and colorful PV.

Tegoshi also grew up and looks less awkward here and it seems that Massu decided to lighten his hair here. It's cute! But then again, I have been obsessing Massu. On outfits, this is a winner. I like what theyre wearing here. Except that I think Notti stole that shirt from me. The green and brown tanktop, and Tomo should lose the swirly pajamas. ROFL. It's not cool to play in water with those! O.O Keii-chan has dangling earrings!!

The sports playing scenes are well made. I especially guh at the Ryo kicking the ball and shige hitting the tennis ball part. I love it. I guess what makes it for me is that the boys look like theyre having a blast as they do this video. <3 That's #1 for me.

ok i just noticed that the slut for teppen is Shige. how weird is that? He was with Massu, Uchi, Ryo and Koyama.. bit much!?

This PV is the one they did for One Piece Movie. Though, I don't particularly like the Anime, I love the song. This was also their single This was their last single before their suspension in 2006 began. This is the first time Notti and Uchi are not included.~~(Stop losing members NEWS)~~ The Video is stylized and themed in anime style. The video is a mix of the Sendai concert, and some of the concerts they had overlaid with anime styled character of NEWS.

It is a very low budget animation, using flash and basic vectors. But it works. The cartoon plot was simple. The boys are stranded on a deserted island and calls for SOS. Captain Tomohisa comes to the rescue, they encounter different things at sea, a whale, a giant octopus and a pirate. They magically defeat the pirates by glaring at them and get the treasure. ( where in Massu still gets only chicken why? I do not know.) It's very cute! <3 this video wins for cuteness factor.

Alright, the videos they used. The performances are adorable. The one in casual shirts, I recognized from the HwM Video as the Sendai concert. and the other one is where they use their costumes for the actual performing of Sayaendou. I love these outfits, in particular , Ryo's and Shige's. Everything has a theme, and the pirate theme looks good on them. My only nemesis in this is is the big fox-like thing on Tomo's shoulder which we have dubbed THE ANIMAL.

I am honestly scared of that thing.There is nothing in the world scarier than a dead fox hanging around an idol's neck. That thing spawned babies already! (( as seen in SC Special medley - where Koyama and Shige wore it's spawn)) It has eyes and I think it possesses Tomohisa.

Tomohisa - get rid of that god forsaken thing!!! It's horrid scary and I don't know how you can dance with such a thing!

Hoshi wo Mezashite is the comeback/ Re-debut single of NEWS. They came back as the 6 Member group in the Johnny's 2007 New Year's Special. The boys have been busy eversince, promoting this new single, which is also the theme for the Japanese Version of Happy Feet which Tegoshi Yuya is voice acting Mumble. (I CANT WAIT TO SEE IT!)

The video is about change and aiming for the stars. It is an appropriate come back video. It is about hope and strength to fight for their dreams. The chorus, Minna iru kai? Hoshi wo mezashite! Literally translates to: Is everyone here? Let's aim for the stars. It reflects their wishes to get back to their place be #1 again. ( But then again, they never really was anything else right?)

The boys look ecstatic to be back. After a year-long hiatus, who wouldn't be? These boys deserve it now more than ever. They worked hard on this album and it shows. A lot of changes were seen in our boys in their comeback video. It seems that everyone grew up and changed for the better of the group. As Massu said in the HwM shoot, everyone used the time to grow and work on individual strengths for their re-debut. Each one studied a craft or two to become meaningful and strong members of NEWS.

In the next part, I will skip Member love and discuss each wonderful member of NEWS and show their changes and hopes and dreams from my perspective. I will try to show how they changed in the one year hiatus and what they portray in the PV Hoshi wo Mezashite.

Tomohisa grew up in that one year. He became buffer and manlier. It seems that with his mass growth his confidence also grew. He is now more confident in leading the group and it shows. Before he seemed awkward to do it, but now, he does it with much gusto and his confidence in himself shows in his actions in the video. His look changed from blonde candy-pop idol to someone who is a strong role model for the youth. His image now is that of a strong man with principles and a goal and it fits him in real life.

Tomohisa is one boy that has goals. He is planning to graduate from college next year from Meiji University ( Business Department). He is very goal oriented and the perfect leader of NEWS. Yamapi is not only a leader but also a friend. He's very concerned about all his friends and usually keeps tabs on them. The boys love talking about him in their blogs. You can see that they like him very much because all thier entries about them seem to be positive and funny. Shige, Massu and Tegoshi even admitted in their blogs that they gave the Hard Gay Costume to him in his last birthday and it was Koyama's idea that they give him crab during the concert ! (Tomo, really your members love you that much.) In this video, he looks like he having fun with the boys. He's very silly, as all Yamapi fans know, Captain P is also Captain Dork. Isn't it quite obvious with the Yama P cups?!

The Tomo-chan we see right now is one of the most hardworking NEWS member, if not the most. His daily blogs show his adventures in the entertainment world and outside. He seems to be jumping from one project to another - from dramas, commercials, promotionals, modelling and his work with NEWS. Not to mention, he is still going to school! I wish I had Yamapi's energy! The motivated boy really is an awesome role model for Japan's youth.

Nishikido Ryo has always been labeled as the group's Aniki (older brother). Being one of the older boys in the group, Ryo is always watching out for the boys. Tegoshi and Shige are enamored to him in particular. Tegoshi looks up to him to the point of using him as a point of reference in his fashion decisions, and asking him to teach him guitar.Shige thinks that Nishikido-aniki can do anything. (a line from Shige's blog).The difference with the Nishikido Ryo right now and before seems miniscule to the changes that Yamashita did to himself.

Ryo has always led a double life. He shows his more serious side to NEWS, being a role model to Tegoshi and Shige and friends to the rest and the respected frontman of Kanjani 8. Koyama said that he is the resident perfectionist and Massu has a deep respect for Ryo. Ryo's tounge seems to be sharp and has an edge, but it is only used when needed. The Ryo fans see is the charming and sexy bishounen with an air of mystery around him. He is always a little bratty around them, but this is only a facade.The real Ryo has a golden heart and is truly concerned about the group and its members. It has been said in Koyama's blog that Ryo seemed to be the most concerned in the group, always calling him about things that he wanted to happen, plans and other things.

The Ryo now is worldlier- he grew up from being that bratty Osakan to a man with experience and wisdom. Ryo may not be the smartest cookie in NEWS but he has a lot of experience to contribute. Especially in the world of touring since he has done that more than anyone else in the group. Ryo hopes to expand his experiences with NEWS more now than ever. In the video, Ryo is seen playing with the boys and being silly. This is quite different, because usually, his more Aniki side shows in NEWS and his silly side in Kanjani 8. However, it may be that Aniki is showing his newfound affection for the group! <3 that's always a good thing!

If there is one person in NEWS who changed the most, it's Tegoshi Yuya. People refer to him as the Sweetheart of NEWS because he is the Baby of NEWS ( though in truth, he is the same age as Shige). He is just an innocent boy, always smiling and easily appeased. In the videos, he's the kid we saw grow up in front of our very eyes and it is heartwarming to see that the baby whose baby teeth was still there grew up into such a beautiful young man. Who would have thought that the prince smiling at us on the left was that awkward little kid?

The whole group babies him, as seen in the Hoshi wo Mezashite DVD video, the boy is the only one they babied and made fun of as he was being interviewed.It seems that everyone cannot resist the Tegoshi charm especially Ryo-aniki who has a special nickname for him: Tego-nyan. However, he's not entirely a spoiled brat. He contributes to NEWS a lot. In fact Massu had declared him to be the best singer in NEWS in UTABAN (3-22-07). He indeed has the golden voice in NEWS, even better than Leader-sama or Ryo.

One of the biggest changes with Tegoshi obviously is his dancing abilities. He wowed everyone when he danced after their comeback. It seems that there is a hidden dancing muse within Tegoshi that he had just woken up. I mean, COME ON! How many GIFs have been made of the Tegoshi hiproll? ~~reminds self to make herself one~~ of course that is beside the fact that he is more fashionable now because he tries hard to be. He admitted in NEWS Fashion Check (MU link) that he was hopeless with clothes and looked to Ryo to be his mentor. Then in the recent Utaban, he said that he had been trying to be better with fashion. ( which obviously makes the others happy).

Tegoshi also shows us that he's not only a child but is growing up to be an adult. He started acting more mature, and has developed his own sense of self apart from the boys and apart from Massu. He established himself as the resident boy next door, with his approachable smile and sense of humor. Tegoshi has this effeminate air to him, from his looks to his actions, Tego-nyan is very sweet. ~~He kinda reminds me of Honey-sama from Ouran Host club~~ He tries his hardest to improve himself for NEWS and his duo TegoMass with Massu ( who is going to release their 2nd single YAY!) by practicing daily and watching videos. ((But Tego-nyan, do us a favor, watch MALE artists and quit watching Celine Dion before you turn into her!)

In the PV, we see the mature Tegoshi. He's still that baby that everyone loves with that laugh I can't stop staring at.

Masuda Takahisa has also changed a lot during the year-long hiatus of NEWS. Though NEWS' Babyface seem neverchanging, that's where they get it wrong. That is where Massu surprises them. At each turn, the boy seems to be improving more. From singing, to dancing and acting, Massu covered it all during the year-long break. He said in his Hoshi wo Mezashite video interview that he studied singing, acting and dance in order to contribute more to the group. He utilized the break wisely and also improved on his look to make it more mature than before by working on his muscles- thus earning him the title Muscle man.

Massu is a simple boy, and being 1/2 of TegoMass, he provides the needed support for Tegoshi. Though, do not get me wrong. Massu can hold his own. He is an amazing singer! His solos are always my favorite. He has one of those one of a kind voices that you tend never to forget and yet, he blends so well with Tegoshi. Massu really is an amazing boy who works hard for his craft and I am sure he will indeed contribute to NEWS in a huge way. After all, what is NEWS without Massu's irresistable grin?

Massu just had his coming of age ceremony earlier this year in which NEWS all attended. The boy is now a man and he has to show the world that Massu is not just that brat who rollerskates on stage. He is a man who has dreams and goals and will accomplish them the Massu way. In the video, I see a more mature, less spaztic Massu. It is actually refreshing to see him all grown up now. Though there are still moments of innocence, I think we cannot take that away from Massu anyway.

There are many things I can say about Koyama Keiichiro, but I bet he can say it better than me. Koyama used to always be my least favorite member of NEWS. However, upon reading his blogs, I got a sense of the real Koyama and I loved him more. He is the spokesperson of NEWS because as everyone noted, he talks too much. He is a chatterbox that makes sense and he always has a smile for everyone who he talks to.

Koyama is the first NEWS member to graduate. He is already halfway there to realizing his dreams. Yet, he is still there for NEWS as the big brother who is always there for the young ones. As the oldest member, Koyama is the group's "Mom" who makes sure that they're alright, they ate or whatever. His blog Member Love shows how much he cares for the group. In the video, you see him always sharing the spotlight with everyone else. Because that is how Keii-chan operates. He is always GIVE GIVE GIVE! <3

Kato Shigeaki! My other NEWS baby! He is a wonder. He is known as the smartest member of NEWS and it showed during the Hiatus as he is now graduated High school and is going to take Law in Aoyama Daigaku ( 63rd Highest ranked University in Japan). The boy has always been very shy and it showed in the past PVs and performances, however recently, it seems that Shige's confidence has been boosted and he is facing everything head on.

Shige is also NEWS' resident Rockstar and master of Reinvention. He always finds a way to re-invent himself at each turn surprising us with changes that we did not notice before. He is one of the most creative members of NEWS. He has composed several songs on his guitar with Yamashita Tomohisa and Tegoshi Yuya. His creativity also shows in his blogs where he created a fictional cat, Wagahai, to write his blogs with him. ( Which is a parody of the popular book by Natsume Soseki entitled "Wagahai wa Neko de Aru" or I Am a Cat. which is his favorite book) Is this his way to make sure people do not forget him? But how can we forget Shige when he has such a distinct voice and quality to him?

Shige's image changed from laid back boy next door who is always with Koyama to the strong rebel/rockstar looking Shige. In the video, we see Shige taking the front stage. He willingly goes up front and plays with the camera with the boys as opposed to before when the camera had to chase Shige to get clips of him!

Phew! That was some work. I really love this video and the meaning of it. Though, there is extreme lenseflare action, it is my all time favorite video of NEWS! <3 It really shows the guys in a new light and it makes me happy. Though, the disappearing cloth thing baffles me what the hell is that.

On the costumes? Nothing to complain about. Except, SHIGE. Gimme your jacket! I have been looking for one that shade for ages now!
